General Information

  • The Fall Recreational season dates are to be determined.
  • All new players to WDMSC must provide a copy of their state-issued birth certificate to complete registration.
  • Cubs games will be held once a week on Saturday mornings and the West Des Moines Soccer Club will provide older soccer players as team coaches for the first two sessions. Team parents will then rotate the coaching responsibilities.
  • Returning players are not guaranteed a spot on the same team.
  • All Cubs and U7-U10 Girls’ home games are played on Saturdays. U7-U8 Co-ed games are played on Sunday afternoons and U9-U10 Co-ed home games are played on Saturdays.
  • Competitive tryouts for ages U11 and above will be held in June 2012 and premier teams will be formed after tryouts.  Please visit our Select Tryout page for more information.

·      Please remember that the only requests to be considered are to be removed from a team or to “play up” in an older age group in order to be with classmates.  To “play up”, a separate letter or email must accompany the registration form stating how the player qualifies. These requests must be received before the deadline of 6/22/2012. If you do not sign up on time, it is likely that you will be reassigned to a different team.  If you choose not to play this season there is no guarantee that you will be placed back on your old team when you sign up again next season. Also, there is no guarantee that you will be placed on the same team as previous seasons; however every effort will be made to keep teams together.

Volunteering

The West Des Moines Soccer Club relies on parent volunteers and every team must have a coach.  If no one volunteers to coach, the players will be put on a waiting list.  Each recreational family U7 and above is required to donate at least two hours per season per player if you are not serving as the team coach, assistant coach or coordinator. If you cannot meet your volunteer commitment, it is your responsibility to find a substitute for your allotted time slot . If you or your designated substitute does not meet your assigned time slot, you will be charged a $30.00 penalty.  If your schedule will not allow you to volunteer, you may choose the $25 Volunteer Buyout and if you select the buyout option, you will not be contacted to help with Club needs for this season.
