Passing Drills

As opposing players' defensive skills develop, the importance of well timed and well placed passes increases.

Passes should have one of the following purposes:

1.  Releasing pressure by playing the ball away from the opponent

2.  Moving the ball closer to the opposing goal

3.  Giving the ball to a player in a better position to score

Click on each of the following links for a description of the specific drills designed to help develop player's passing skills. On each sheet you will see a description of the drill, diagram of the drill, minimum age to start using the drill, minimum number of players necessary to effectively use the drill, minimum amount of time to allow for the drill, and coaching tips.
