West Des Moines Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization that has been established since 1986. It is one of the largest and most successful soccer clubs in the Midwest, offering playing opportunities and instruction for approximately 2,000 children, youth from ages 4 through high school as well as opportunities for adults to play or get involved as coaches, referees or volunteers. The club consists of 3 main programs - Recreational, Academy and Select teams for players ages U5-U19. These programs are part of our Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model. We recognize that a long-term commitment and a systematic approach to training, competition, and programming will help to ensure optimum development and enjoyment for each and every player within WDMSC.
Players are placed into age and developmentally appropriate environments that offer them the best opportunity to reach their soccer potential and goals. The Recreational program spans all age groups and is for player development and enjoyment of the game. The Academy program (U9-U10) offers players the opportunity to receive qualified professional coaching, which is an important part of facilitating each player’s soccer development. The Select program (U11-U19) places players in competitive training and playing environments that challenge players to develop and compete at the highest level of play.
WDMSC Select program has 30+ teams is ranked the number one soccer club in the State of Iowa and participates in state, regional and national events. WDMSC has a rich tradition of producing players who have been selected for the State, Regional, and US National teams.
