2009 Senior Soccer Scholarship Winners

Lindsay Brennan

"Soccer has always been such a big part of my life", says Lindsay.  "I've been an active member of the club since I was 4 years old."

Lindsay Brennan grew up in the West Des Moines Soccer Club, playing her entire life here and refereeing in her spare time.  She was active in the West Des Moines commuity volunteering for Living History Farms, St. Mark Lutheran Church, Make A Wish and Westridge Elementary. The volunteer work for the community was also part of a very active High School schedule since she participated not only in soccer, but also in basketball, track, Fellowship of Christian Athletes,  and was a Valley Ambassador and Silver Cord participant all 4 years of high school.

Lindsay will be attending Truman State in the fall to pursue Exercise Science with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy.  We wish you well as you continue your soccer career!  Congratulations for your 2009 WDMSC Senior Soccer Scholarship.

Matt Woodcock

"Soccer has been my passion for as long as I can remember", says Matt.  "My years at West Des Moines Soccer Club started with bright shirts in Cubbies."

 

Matt Woodcock began his WDMSC career at the tender age of 4 on a cubbie team and now has graduated as part of the U18 Boys. Matt was also captain of the Valley Varsity Boys Soccer Team this past year, as well asparticipating in choir and being Master of Ceremonies for the synchronized swimming show at Valley.  He has participated in Troop 242 Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troops for 10 years with many service projects.  One of his biggest accomplishments was earning his Eagle Scout Award in 2006.   ODP has also filled his soccer schedule.

Matt has also volunteered for the WDMSC club in he spring cleanup days at Raccoon River and Hidden Valley complex.

Matt will be attending Central University in the fall to continue playing  soccer but now for the Central University Dutch.  We wish you well as you continue your soccer career!  Congratulations for your 2009 WDMSC Senior Soccer Scholarship.
