Wednesday, August 11th, 2010 See the tournament page for registration and sponsorship information. ************************************************************************** ************************************************************************** ************************************************************************** A Note From Courtney Boss, Founder of the WDM Soccer Closet It has come to the end of another great season and I am sad to say that it will be my last. I have truly enjoyed the past fourteen years as a member of the West Des Moines Soccer Club and will miss the teammates and coaches that I have been fortunate enough to meet and the memories that I will never forget. Over the past three years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to coordinate the Soccer Closet that, with the help of all of the members of the Club, has flourished into a successful project. It has been a sincere joy to help many families obtain gently used soccer equipment that had been donated by other members of the Club. Since 2007, I have been able to help over 900 families. I want to take the time now to thank everyone that has supported me over the years and those who have helped me make the Soccer Closet what it is today. I want to thank all of the members of the board who helped me get the Soccer Club started and moving. I would also like to thank Tave Porto for all of her help of the years with getting information out to the rest of the Club and giving the Soccer Closet the publicity it needed to become a success. I could not have done this without all of the families that have donated their gently used equipment to me, and I hope you all continue to do so in the future years. This past spring I graduated from Valley High School and will be attending Iowa State University in the fall. Since I will no longer be able to coordinate the Soccer Closet, I have handed the responsibilities down to Grace Nichols. Grace will be a sophomore at Valley High School next year and I have had the pleasure of getting to know her during this past high school soccer season at Valley. I want to ask for your help in the next year as Grace takes over the position as coordinator. I know that she will do a great job, and I hope that you all support her as you have done me in the years to come. ************************************************************************** Spirit wear is here!
